Vintage Photo Friday: A Festive Feline

Nothing says Christmas cheer quite like the family cat preparing to attack the tree.

Interestingly enough, this polaroid was stuck in a family album that included no other Christmas photos. Just one shot...of this cat.

Well, Merry Christmas, family cat circa 1970. You look like you had a lovely holiday.

I cannot believe Tuesday is Christmas day, and furthermore I can't believe I was unable to find a single thrifted gift for any friend or family member. It just doesn't seem like Christmas without a thrifted gift under the tree.

Maybe one of you fine thrifters had better luck in secondhand shopping this holiday season. I certainly hope you did. So tell me. Did anyone partake in our National Thrift-A-Gift Week?

Who made your nice list and scored all the vintage kitsch you could salvage? Who made your naughty list and is getting secondhand granny panties?

Beautiful siamese! And that pillow is dope. I gave a few thrift presents this year - but only to vintage loving friends. My other peeps just wouldn't get it. I hope that you have a great holiday!

Hey stranger! How are ya? I'm also disappointed I didn't have any thrifted gifts. I think I will hit up the thrift store this weekend and see what I can find. It's never too late, right??

I had good luck in a couple of departments thrifty gift-wise. I found brand new still in the plastic wrap games for 3 folks, the Vampire Diaries for my Ian Somerhaulder lovin' daughter, one of those put the puzzle together and solve a mystery game things for my son-in-law, and the game Cursed for a friend, who already opened and played it at her Xmas party with great results. I also found like new books: The Secret Life of Santa, Christmas Logic Puzzles (one of those gifty books from Barney Noodle), and The Cupcake Doctor for my kid who wants to start her own cupcake business one day. I always put "thrifted gifts" on my own list, so we'll see what the fam comes up with. Last year I got a brand new pair of ice skates to alter! :O)

Hey there, Serena. How did you make out in your weekend thrifting? I'm disappointed that I couldn't find anything thrifted this year. Of course I shopped the sales, but it's just not the same. Enjoy your holiday!

That's an impressive holiday thrift haul, Peace. I'm sure those gifts will be loved by all. I know I enjoy receiving thrifted gifts, because of the amount of thought that goes into the selection and the patience it takes to wait for that perfect secondhand something to come along. I hope you and your family have a great holiday!
