It's National Thrift-A-Gift Week!

Why is it National Thrift-A-Gift Week? It's National Thrift-A-Gift Week because we thrifters know how to pick great presents, gifts made better by the fact that we didn't max out our credit cards to buy them.

We thrift some of life's essentials. We thrift novelties and decor. We thrift for entertainment, for sport and even as fodder for our blogs.

Why not thrift some gifts this holiday season?

Let's give it a week... a week's time to hunt our favorite secondhand stores for someone special in our lives.

With a little luck and maybe some secondhand Christmas spirit, I'm sure we can find something someone will love...at a price that'll really deck some halls.

So let's hit those thrifts. I'll check back in seven days to see who really celebrated our Thrift-A-Gift Week. Until then, happy holiday thrifting, everyone!

Over several months I have collected a "Bread Making Kit" for a newly wed, all the items in the kit are thrifted. Most everything is in like new (some still have original lables)a few are gently used. 2 hard cover recipe books, bread pans, measuring spoons & cups, timer, pot holders, cooling racks, etc. I threw in a couple of jars of my homemade jam (in thrifted jelly jars).

That's awesome! You have thrifted not one, but many gifts and they're themed! That's some thrift dedication for ya.

Good finds.

Unless it's a souvenir everyone's gifts are homemade or thrifted this year. Oh, how I love it! The hard part is my nieces and nephews, sure I can find them toys, but I like to be creative and get them things to expand their minds. Hopefully they'll appreciate it when they're older...

Thrifting presents requires a lot of patience for me this year, it seems. I'm in a thrift slump!

Well I always appreciate thrifted and/or handmade gifts, hopefully the kiddies will too.
